American Library Association Names “InspireMyKids” as One of Its 2011 Great Web Sites for Kids

Annually, the Association for Library Service to Children (a division of the American Library Association) searches out the “best of the best” in websites designed for children 14 and under. Their search is based on stringent criteria, including quality of content, age-appropriateness, educational value, and overall positivity of message. The top contenders make it onto their Great Web Sites for Kids list, which appears on the American Library Association’s website. InspireMyKids was created in 2010 by Mike Stutman and Kevin Conklin, two fathers and best friends in Connecticut who wanted a place for their own kids to find the kind of inspiration their website provides.
“To receive recognition from arguably the nation’s most prestigious children’s literary and media organization is an unexpected and tremendous honor for us”, said co-founder Mike Stutman. “We are looking forward to upholding the standards that the ALSC sets for it’s chosen websites and to striving to inspire children and the adults in their lives to think big and take personal action to make the world a better place.”
