Jorge Munoz – An Angel in Queens

At 5’2”, Queens resident Jorge Munoz might not seem to have a big presence. But every night at 9:30, when he heads to a subway stop near his home, Jorge is the man of the hour. That is because every night, Jorge brings a hot dinner to over a hundred people in need of one – immigrants who are poverty-stricken, homeless, and desperate to survive.

The lives of Jorge and his family revolve around the preparation of delivery of these meals. In addition, the family serves 200 breakfasts every Sunday morning. Although it is a huge sacrifice and commitment for Jorge and his family, they say they are happy to do it, because they remember their first days in America and how hard it was for them. And they want to make the lives of these people, who now face the struggles they faced not so long ago, just a little bit easier with a hot meal every night.

This video tells Jorge’s inspiring story.
