The Tutu Lady – Delivering Fun and Joy Where They're Needed Most!

In April 2011, Laura Pita was a busy mom of four boys. On top of that, she was in the midst of a difficult time, supporting her mom and her son as both battled cancer. In order to keep her mind busy during this time, Laura decided to make a tutu for her niece. As she did, she thought about other kids fighting cancer just as her son was. She realized that something as simple as a tutu or a superhero cape might be just the thing to cheer these kids up as they endured their battles. And with that, Laura found her inspiration.

Laura began making tutus and capes, which she delivers to kids in local hospitals. When she does, the results are magical! As the kids put on their tutus and capes, joy and silliness abound and laughter is in the air. But most importantly, when The Tutu Lady (as Laura is now known) comes around, she lifts the spirits of everyone she serves, making their difficult times and hers easier to endure.

This video tells the story of The Tutu Lady and her inspirational work.
