World Autism Awareness Day – Shining a Bright Light on Autism
Do you know anyone with autism? Even if you don’t think you do, chances are that you HAVE encountered an autistic person. That’s because autism occurs on a wide spectrum, with its symptoms ranging from mild to severe. And actually, about 1 in 110 people have this condition!
In order to increase recognition of autism and help people better understand this common condition, on April 2 of each year World Autism Awareness Day is observed. This event is marked by such things as informational events, media presentations, art exhibitions, and public displays. It is hoped that through increased autism awareness, those affected by autism can get the help and acceptance they need to live their lives to the fullest!
This video gives lots of great information about autism and just how common it is.
